About Me

Counseling is a highly personal experience.  Finding a therapist with the “right fit” is the first step to positive and effective therapy.  Considerations such as scheduling, location, cost, applicable insurance benefits, and professional credentials are essential, but equally if not more important is careful attention to a counselor’s ability to promote an open and safe atmosphere that uniquely suits you. If you are prepared to take that first step, I invite you to call me for a brief phone interview or to schedule a complimentary 15-minute face-to-face interview.  Whether we meet over the phone or in person, you can expect safety, respect, and kindness, as we exchange questions and information and discern what the right fit looks like for you.

As a licensed professional counselor, I am passionate about equipping clients with tools to help successfully manage a wide variety of life challenges.

I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences in 1983 with a major in Health Services Management.  After eleven years as a stay-at-home-mom I returned to school and obtained my Masters Degree in Counseling in 2004 from Portland State University.

Prior to going into private practice, I spent a number of years as a clinical administrator in the medical field.  That experience has provided me with an extensive knowledge of medical conditions and psychotropic medications.  My clients benefit by having a therapist who can help integrate their therapeutic and medical treatment by interfacing effectively with other health care providers.

Also serving clients from Hillsboro, Portland, Lake Oswego, Tigard, Tualatin, and West Linn.
