“Perhaps strength doesn’t reside in having never been broken…but in the courage required to grow strong in the broken places.” Kristen Jongen
Broken places. They range from relatively simple life interruptions or transitions (i.e. communication issues, job/role changes) to much deeper trials and hurts. Each break or tear requires a unique measure of strength and specific path to healing or resolution. Sometimes we manage independently, but often we do well to reach outside ourselves for help. I believe in the power of trusted relationship. There are times we truly need someone to listen, to empathize, to encourage, or to offer wisdom; to walk with us and cheer us on as we grow out of the “broken places” and move into a place of strength and forward momentum. It is with consistent small changes in our thinking or actions, that we can become healthier emotionally, spiritually, and physically.
As a licensed therapist, I approach counseling with this holistic framework in mind, incorporating a variety of techniques, tailored specifically for each client. My ultimate goal through these processes is to see my clients realize their strengths and achieve the momentum and growth that they desire – to offer stability along life’s path when the ground is shifting or “to grow strong in the broken places.”
Your call is welcome. Don’t hesitate to take a first step toward healing and recovery.
